LIST OF ISSUES
1. Protecting Biodiversity to Combat Climate Breakdown

Healthy biodiversity and functioning ecosystems are vital for mitigating the impacts of climate change. Éanna champions policies that:

  • Promote the preservation of Ireland's rich biodiversity.

  • Support ecosystems that naturally sequester carbon, reduce flooding, prevent soil erosion, and mitigate droughts.

  • Strengthen Ireland’s resilience against extreme weather by restoring and protecting natural habitats.
     

5. Education and Awareness for a Sustainable Future

As a celebrated science communicator, Éanna understands the power of education in driving change. Her focus includes:

  • Expanding environmental education in schools to inspire the next generation of climate and biodiversity advocates.

  • Supporting community programs that connect people to Ireland’s natural and cultural heritage.

  • Ensuring the public has access to reliable, science-based information about environmental issues.

2. Safeguarding Ireland’s Natural and Cultural Heritage

Ireland’s identity is deeply rooted in its unique landscapes, wildlife, and cultural history. Éanna will work to:

  • Ensure legislative protections for Ireland’s natural landscapes and wildlife.

  • Advocate for resources to conserve historic buildings, traditional crafts, and local heritage.

  • Foster a sense of pride and stewardship for future generations.

3. Legislative Action on Environmental Sustainability

While individual efforts are important, Éanna believes systemic change must be driven by leadership. She will:

  • Push for Oireachtas-led measures.

  • Strengthen enforcement of existing environmental laws.

  • Advocate for new, impactful policies to address emerging environmental challenges.

6. An Ghaeilge a Chothú mar Chuid d’Oidhreacht Chultúrtha na hÉireann

Mar Ghaeilgeoir bródúil agus líofa, tá meas mór ag Éanna Ní Lamhna ar an nGaeilge mar chnámh droma d’oidhreacht chultúrtha na hÉireann. Tá a grá don Ghaeilge le feiceáil ina cuid oibre agus ina cuid feachtasaíochta, áit a dtacaíonn sí go seasta lena húsáid agus lena caomhnú.

Áiríonn feachtas Éanna:

  • Tacaíocht a Neartú don Ghaeilge: Tacaíocht a thabhairt do thionscnaimh a chuireann an Ghaeilge chun cinn san oideachas, sna meáin, agus i saol an lae.

  • Cothromaíocht a Chur Chun Cinn: Spreagadh a thabhairt do níos mó rannpháirtíochta leis an nGaeilge trí í a dhéanamh inrochtana agus taitneamhach do chách, is cuma cén leibhéal líofachta atá acu.

  • Oidhreacht Teanga a Chaomhnú: Aird a tharraingt ar thábhacht na Gaeilge mar theanga bheo atá ceangailte le stair chultúrtha agus nádúrtha na hÉireann.

 

Trí Éanna a thoghadh, tá lucht vótála ag tacú ní amháin le cosantóir ar an gcomhshaol, ach freisin le cur chun cinn na Gaeilge agus a hoidhreacht theangeolaíoch a cheiliúradh. "Is í an Ghaeilge croí na hÉireann, agus táim tiomanta í a chaomhnú agus a neartú."

4. A Voice for Independent, Non-Party Representation

As an independent candidate, Éanna offers a non-partisan perspective in the Seanad. Her campaign will:

  • Represent all voices, regardless of political affiliation, with a focus on evidence-based decision-making.

  • Build coalitions across party lines to achieve meaningful progress on cultural and environmental issues.

  • Advocate for inclusive policies that benefit communities throughout Ireland.
